The day
Morning session or afternoon session
How to choose a Petulu food day: the 8:30am market morning that ends in lunch, or the 2:30pm walk that ends in dinner. One kitchen, one session.

Two shapes, one kitchen
The morning runs from 8:30am to about 12:30pm. You leave in time for the market, walk the rice fields, cook, and sit down to lunch. The afternoon runs from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. There is no market. You walk, cook, and eat dinner.
Both happen at Warung Tumang Bali in Banjar Laplapan, Petulu, with Chef Wayan Suryana. A shared day stops at eight guests. Pick one session. Doing both on the same day is too much food and too much heat.
How to choose
Choose the morning if you want the chili piles still high and you can leave central Ubud early. The ride is about 10 minutes from central Ubud, depending on traffic. The half-day food itinerary is that morning written out as a walk.
Choose the afternoon if the morning is already taken, you arrived late, or you would rather the feast be dinner. In the drier months the field walk is hotter then. A hat helps. If you are still on a European night, 8:30am is a hard pickup. Say which session you want when you ask about a date. The kitchen holds one group at a time.
What does not change
Pickup and drop-off are free from a hotel or villa in the main Ubud area. There is a welcome drink when you arrive. You cook. A printed booklet goes home with you. The price and the form stay on tumangbaliclass.com. This page is only the choice of shape.
The morning market note and the Petulu rice fields note are the two stops that decide whether morning is worth the early start.
