Why the afternoon class fits a late flight
Many flights out of Bali leave late at night, and hotel checkout is usually around noon. That leaves an afternoon to fill with your bags packed. The afternoon session at Warung Tumang Bali runs 2:30pm to 5:30pm in Petulu: a rice-field walk, cooking with Chef Wayan Suryana, then dinner. You eat a full Balinese meal before the airport instead of airport food.
How to time it
Ngurah Rai Airport (DPS) is about 45 km from Ubud. Expect around 1.5 hours on a good run and up to 2.5 hours in evening traffic. Add your airline's check-in time, usually two to three hours before an international departure.
Worked through: the class ends at 5:30pm, drop-off at your Ubud hotel takes you to about 6pm, and a 6pm airport ride arrives somewhere between 7:30pm and 8:30pm. That suits flights leaving from about 10:30pm onward. For an afternoon flight, book the 8:30am morning session instead; it ends at 12:30pm.
Bags, pickup, and the driver
Free pickup and drop-off are from a hotel or villa in the main Ubud area, not the airport. Leave your bags with your hotel after checkout and book your airport driver from the hotel. If you want the driver to collect you at the kitchen instead, ask Wayan on WhatsApp when you check dates.
